The story of suffering, sacrifice and survival of my parents and grandparents and its impact on the second generation
After Mama reluctantly allowed us to record her testimony, I transcribed her words and published it in the book: A HOLOCAUST MEMOIR OF LOVE & RESILIENCE: MAMA’S SURVIVAL FROM LITHUANIA TO AMERICA.
This book is a double memoir – the story of my parents survival from the Holocaust, and the impact it has had on me, the second generation. The recent research on inter-generational transmission of trauma has validated what many descendants have known their entire lives – we, too, were affected by the Holocaust.
As a second generation, I have devoted my time to educating youth and adults worldwide about the micro-history of two families, within the macro history of Europe during the years 1933-1950.
